Whether you’re a fan of comedy, live music or the finer arts, there are few better ways to spend a rainy November evening than enjoying some quality live entertainment. Let’s take a quick look at three events that will be arriving in Victoria this month.
MAX & RUBY IN THE NUTCRACKER SUITE AT THE MCPHERSON PLAYHOUSE
If you’re looking for the perfect family-friendly event which you can bring the kids to, look no further than Max & Ruby in the Nutcracker Suite. The setting is Christmas Eve, and as Grandma reads the tale of the Nutcracker the world’s most beloved bunny brother and sister take us into their imagination and rendition of the story. The performance is set to the music of Tchaikovsky and includes original choreography, ballet and other types of dance.
Max & Ruby in the Nutcracker Suite graces the stage of the McPherson Playhouse on Monday, November, 10th at 6:30 pm. Tickets are $35 and can be purchased from the Royal McPherson Theatre Society website by clicking here.
THE JUST FOR LAUGHS COMEDY TOUR ARRIVES NOVEMBER 15
On the other hand, if you’re looking for a great event which you probably shouldn’t bring the kids to you’ll be pleased to know that the Just For Laughs Comedy Tour is set to make a stop here in Victoria in November. Headlining the tour are Hell Jon Dore (host of “Funny as Hell”), Demetri Martin, Levi MacDougall and Todd Glass. Consider this show if you’re looking for a fun night of side-splitting laughter.
There will be two performances on Saturday, November 15th – 7 pm and 9:30 pm – with both held at the McPherson Playhouse. Tickets are $53 and can be purchased from the Royal McPherson Theatre Society website or at their box office.
PACIFIC OPERA VICTORIA AND THE VICTORIA SYMPHONY PRESENT CAMELOT IN CONCERT
If you’re more of a fan of tales from the Shakespearean era, you certainly won’t want to miss Lerner and Loewe’s Camelot in Concert, with vocals performed by members of Pacific Opera Victoria and the score performed by the Victoria Symphony. You’ll be whisked away to King Arthur’s Court and captivated by the drama of the forbidden romance between Queen Guinevere and Sir Lancelot.
Camelot in Concert has two showings at the Royal Theatre – Saturday, November 22 at 8:00 pm and Sunday, November 23 at 2:30 pm. Tickets range from $40-$90 and can be purchased from the Royal McPherson Theatre Society website or through the Royal Theatre box office.
While this is by no means an exhaustive list, the above three events are some of the hottest that are set to arrive in Victoria in November.
